Attendance: GPS and selfie check-in

How workers check in on site, the geofence, and how the office sees who is on site.

Growth and Pro

Workers check in from their phone when they arrive and check out when they leave. Each check-in saves the time, the GPS location at that moment and a selfie, and becomes the hours that payroll uses.

How workers check in

  1. Tap Check in in the bottom bar.
  2. Allow camera and location when the phone asks — check-in does not work without them.
  3. Take the selfie. The time and location are saved for the site.
  4. At the end of the day: Check in → Check out. The hours for the day are recorded.

The geofence

Each site has a check-in radius around its map location — 300 metres unless you change it (from 20 m to 5,000 m) in the attendance settings. A check-in from outside the radius is still saved but is flagged as off-site for the office to review, so a worker is never stopped from recording their time.

Location is recorded only at the moment of check-in and check-out. The app does not track workers during the day.

See who is on site

Attendance and On site show who has checked in at each site right now. Missing check-ins show in red, so the office or the leader can call before the shift starts. Leaders see the same for their own sites on the Today card.

Reviewing flags

Off-site check-ins and days entered by hand are flagged in Hours review so they get a second look before payroll.

Days without a check-in

If a worker could not check in (no phone, no signal), they can enter hours by hand under More → Hours. Days with a check-in are locked and cannot be changed this way.
